In voiceovers, script analysis is your number one guarantee of being competitive.\u00a0 I\u2019ve said it before but it bears repeating over and over again, if you don\u2019t truly understand every single sentence of what you\u2019re saying then you\u2019re not \u201csaying\u201d it, you\u2019re reading it.\u00a0 It\u2019s why at least a third of the blogs I\u2019ve written focus on the different ways to analyze and understand voiceover copy.\u00a0 I went into some detail in the article on Voiceover Technique and the Product (Part 1),<\/a> as well as in its follow-up, Voiceover Technique and the Product (Part 2).<\/a>\u00a0 Most importantly, we discussed script importance in this article on Voiceover Script Analysis.<\/a>\u00a0 Review these and get ready for the next several blogs to employ these techniques in much greater detail, breaking down the techniques and strategy line by line, and sometimes word by word.\u00a0 That\u2019s right \u2013 each word counts.\u00a0 Throwing away a word means \u00a0throwing away something the writer might have felt important, and that\u2019s a make-or-break no-brainer.<\/p>\n

Before the next blog rolls out with the first script, start paying attention to how you read an article, a novel, a textbook, an email.\u00a0 How do you process the information?\u00a0 Emotionally?\u00a0 Intellectually?\u00a0 Pragmatically?\u00a0 Creatively?\u00a0 Do you read between the lines or do you take each word to heart?\u00a0 None of this is \u201cright or wrong\u201d but it helps to understand how we process information that we read, because there\u2019s some authenticity to that.\u00a0 If you remember to do the same with voiceover copy, you are now treating it as something important, or interesting, something you want to UNDERSTAND.\u00a0 Yet another method for taking you one step further away from \u201creading words on paper.\u201d\u00a0 Even though you\u2019re selling beers, burgers, and beachwear, you need to act like you actually care.\u00a0 I know it\u2019s hard to care about the latest collision warning systems reducing accidents to 7 percent, but if you don\u2019t, someone else will.\u00a0 And you know you want that gig.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
