Voice technique, in the end, does all boil down to your \u201cacting\u201d performance and whether it was believable or not.\u00a0 There is absolutely a fine line between the techniques you can execute to \u201csound\u201d more believable and basic intuitive acting itself, but again, in the end \u2013 were you authentic?\u00a0 That is the bottom line.\u00a0 There has long been a debate as to whether students of voice over should train only with a voiceover coach or also include some acting classes in there.\u00a0 I am of the latter mindset.\u00a0 Mind you, I don\u2019t teach formal acting classes, but \u201cacting\u201d is inevitably taught when I teach voice acting.\u00a0 Nevertheless, I know without a doubt that most of the best voice actors out there ARE <\/span><\/span><\/span>actors<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>!\u00a0 There\u2019s the proof.\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Voice over training<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a> is one thing, but an acting foundation is so helpful.\u00a0 So check out some of the big schools for introductory voiceover classes to test out the waters, or do\u00a0 a search locally.\u00a0\u00a0 Every teacher has some gems to share.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

If you \u201cspeak\u201d your voiceover copy you will remain forever in the sound of \u201creading.\u201d\u00a0 If you \u201cact\u201d it, you now put yourself in the position of FEELING what you are saying \u2013 emotionally connecting to the words.\u00a0 When you pay attention to what you are actually saying, you can and will connect better on an emotional level to the concept of the script and all its smaller messages.\u00a0 You will then sound not like you are reading but as if you are discovering, experiencing, reacting, and feeling.\u00a0 You will sound real.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
